My first attempt at some West African clothing
For a while, I’ve wanted to try my hand at making some West African clothing, but I wasn’t really sure where to start. There just aren’t as many resources for it as there are for European things.

Hi, I’m Calidus. I’m currently in the Barony of Bhakail in the East Kingdom, though I started SCA in the Barony of the Forgotten Sea in Calontir. I’m not super active usually since my work schedule prevents me from a lot, but I am chronically online, and can be found on a lot of SCA discord servers, or you can email me at __. I have a lot of random interests and am not particularly good at anything, but I made this site just to have a place to organize whatever I work on.
I’m not college educated, so I don’t really know what I’m doing to be honest. I’m just having some fun and following my weird hyperfixations.
I don’t have any awards, so if you want to recommend me for one, feel free. It’s not something I try to focus on but I know sometimes people think certain people have awards they don’t have so they don’t recommend them so I figured that was worth adding here.

Snake Tunic :D
Since I’m an obsessive nerd, before making this tunic, I tried to learn if embroidery on roman tunics was actually a thing or not. I couldn’t find much on the subject, but I did find this, which talked about Romans calling embroidery ‘painting with the needle’.

I’ve got a lot of compliments on this outfit, and a lot of people wonder what exactly is going on here. Well, here goes.
